Counselors of Peace Have Joy

“Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but counselors of peace have joy.” Proverbs 12:20

Has anyone ever advised you to do something that you knew in your heart was clearly not God’s will? Perhaps this person really thought they were giving you sound advice, it is after all, the nature of the world to take care of self and often at the expense of others. Even the very best of worldly council is evil and deceitful because it only produces temporary results which are usually followed by a great deal of heartache. Good council is always in line with God’s Word and has your very best interest and God’s glory at heart and following that council produces peace and joy.

I found out the hard way that there is more bad council in the world than there is good and that following bad council can often produce disastrous results. There is just no substitute for good, solid, loving and godly council that is based upon the truth in God’s Word.
