“I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets, who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.” Hebrews 11:32-34
The Bible is full of examples of what the Lord can accomplish in, for and through us by faith. The faith that worked in the lives of Gideon, David and Samuel is the same faith that enables us to believe that with the Lord’s help we can hear and obey His voice, minister to the lost, endure our every trial (and count it all joy!), stand for what we believe in and receive healing. We are able to have that same mountain moving faith because we are beneficiaries of the testimonies and examples of those who have gone before us. You probably don’t need to conquer a kingdom or shut a lion’s mouth today but you might need to obtain a promise, overcome an obstacle, live more righteously or become bolder in sharing your own testimony with others. If so, faith in God’s help is what will enable you to do just what you need to do today.
Faith is what strengthens and enables us to live victoriously in every situation or circumstance that might come our way.
