“I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.” Luke 15:7
I once looked up the word ‘joy’ in Webster’s Dictionary and found this definition; ‘to experience pleasure or delight’, not being satisfied I looked up the word in my Strong’s Concordance and found much the same definition and I soon began to wonder what it is that brings joy to the Lord. I believe I’ve found the answer in this verse. Of course our Father delights in His children when we obey, seek Him for our needs or experience success in something He has called us to but heaven experiences more pleasure and delight in one sinner coming to repentance than any other occurrence. And I suspect it brings our Father extra pleasure when our fruit is so pleasing that a sinner has been drawn to repentance because of what they see in us. .
Rejoice in Him today and others will notice and who knows, your joy might cause a sinner to want a relationship with the Lord; then there will be much joy in heaven!
