A Heart of Flesh

“And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances and do them. Then they will be My people, and I shall be their God.” Ezekiel 11:19-20

There is an amazing transformation that takes place when a heart is surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember what 2 Corinthians 5:17 says about any man that is in Christ? He becomes a new creature and that new creature receives a new heart. The old creatures’ heart of stone is replaced by a heart of flesh. When the old things pass away the new things come; things like a new spirit within, the desire to walk in His statutes and keep His ordinances. That new creature becomes His and He becomes theirs.

It is the change that takes place in the heart that transforms the old creature into a new one. It is the new heart that desires to walk in His ways and it is the one with the heart of flesh that recognizes his God and who in turn is recognized as one of His. What kind of heart do you have today?
