“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Why, you may have asked yourself, did Christ die for sinners? According to Romans 5:6 it was the right time and He chose to do so because of our helplessness and ungodliness. Read verses 9 and 10 and you will see that He did so to save the helpless and ungodly sinner from the wrath of God. Christ died for us while we were His enemies, helpless and unable to save ourselves, and He did so in order that we might be reconciled to God through His death. It was the right time for Him to demonstrate His love for us because there would have been no need for Him to die for the righteous.
God’s timing is always perfect and He reconciled us through His death and saved us by His life at just the right time; while we were yet helpless and ungodly sinners.
