According to the Word

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.” Psalm 119:9

How can anyone keep his way pure in a world filled with wickedness and blatant immorality? It’s only possible if you know who you are in Christ; heirs along with Him according to Romans 8:17 and you must also know where you are in him; raised up and seated in heavenly places according to Ephesians 2:6. Then know what is available to you through Him according to Hebrews 13:21, that is, “equip(ped) in every good thing to do His will …through Jesus Christ…” Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and consult His Word. According to Ephesians 4:12 it’s all you need; alive, active and powerful and it contains all the truth and instruction needed to live a pure and godly life.

I’ve said this before and I think it bears repeating; God’s Word truly contains all the instructions we need to keep our way pure and to live in such a way that pleases Him and causes others to be drawn to Him because of what they see in us. Living according to His Word is what produces godliness in our hearts and lives.
