The Lord is in This

“Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, ‘Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.’” Genesis 28:16

I’ve read the story of Jacobs dream many times and if you’ve been a Christian for very long it is probably a familiar story to you as well; if not, I hope you will take the time to read it today. Recently the thought struck me that we probably all have had experiences that we didn’t realize God had orchestrated in one way or another until after the fact and then we were just awed by His presence throughout our situation. God is sovereign, awesome and holy and nothing escapes His attention; even the plans we make without seeking His direction or help. When we recognize His sovereignty in our lives we can also recognize that He is in even our failed plans because He loves us and wants us to succeed at all He has ordained for us.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28. How many times have you looked back at something and realized that the Lord was truly in it and yet at the time you had not known it?
