Keep Watch

“I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart; and I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, and how I may reply when I am reproved.” Habakkuk 2:1

It is vitally important that we guard our hearts and our minds and the best way I have found to do this is to station myself in the place where God can speak to me. That means beginning the day spending time in His presence and reading from His Word. I’m far better equipped to keep watch and listen for His direction when I have begun my day this way. When we are on guard we will be less likely to compromise God’s word as we apply His truth to our lives and we may be given a vital word to share with another as well.

1 Peter 5:8 warns us “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” That someone could be you or one of your loved ones. Stand at your guard post and keep watch!
