Abba! Father!

“For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’” Romans 8:15

As Christians we have the distinct and wonderful privilege of being able to address God as our Father. If you are blessed with a loving earthly father you’ve been blessed with a good example of God’s love for His children. My own father died when I was very young and I was well into adulthood before I was fully able to relate to the holy and awesome God that I knew in such a way that I could also relate to Him as a loving Father. What a difference that has made in my life and in my walk with Him. Our God is not an untouchable and far away figurehead as are, sadly, some earthly fathers; He is a loving, accessible and very ‘hands on’ Abba Father who cares about our every need and our hearts deepest desires. Oh how He loves us!
