What is Your Mind Set On?

“For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the
Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:6-8

Not only is the flesh hostile toward God but things of the flesh bring only fleeting satisfaction and in fact momentarily pleasing the flesh often brings long-lasting heartache. No wonder a mind set on the flesh in displeasing to God who wants only the best for His children. A mind set on the Spirit brings life, peace, joy, strength and a freedom that only comes with subjecting self to the law of God and His plan for our lives.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray today that my mind is set on You and upon Your Holy Spirit that brings life and peace. I set my heart and my mind on the things of You today because I don’t want anything in my life that might bring hostility toward You. I subject myself to Your will today and to Your law so that I might please You. Is that your prayer today?
