Open Ears

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7

Are your spiritual ears open to hear everything that God might have to say to you today? I have a feeling that God speaks to us far more frequently than we realize. The problem is that often we are too busy or too focused on our own agendas to hear that still, small voice. I want to obey and I want to overcome every obstacle the world puts in my way but neither is entirely possible if I’m not hearing God because the world around me has my attention. I don’t know about you but I hunger to hear every word that the Holy Spirit has to say and I want to walk only on the path that He leads me on. Ask Him to open your ears and your spiritual eyes to see clearly where He is leading.

I can’t help but wonder just how much I’ve missed by only half listening when the Lord has spoken. We do ourselves a terrible disservice when our ears are not fully open to what the Holy Spirit is directing and as a result we undoubtedly miss many blessings along the way.
