“Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29
Have you ever said something you deeply regretted immediately after the words left your mouth? I’m sure there’s not a person alive who hasn’t had that very embarrassing and sorrowful experience. James 3:5 testifies to the power in the tongue to defile the whole body. I pray that I will be mindful and thoughtful before I speak today. I want to be considerate of others and sensitive to the Holy Spirit as I strive to keep my speech wholesome, edifying and gracious. I will strive to avoid empty chatter, gossip and untimely or ungodly counsel. I pray that everything I say today would be a reflection of Christ living in me today.
We’re accountable for our words whether they tear down or edify and our Heavenly Father is always listening.
