Eyes on Eternity

“For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory for beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Is there anything bothering you today? Is there a problem that weighs heavily on your mind or a situation that brings stress and uncertainty in your life? If so, you’re not alone. The world is full of such things and as long as we dwell here such things will be a part of our lives or the lives of our loved ones. Yet do you realize how much goes on in the spiritual realm concerning all these things and that these unseen spiritual things are truly important. There is continual intercession and spiritual warfare on behalf of God’s people and as we pray for strength in our every day walk He guides us to walk by faith, not by sight. Trust in what God is doing in your life that you cannot see in the midst of trial and ask Him to teach you to value the eternal things more then the temporary things of this world. Trust that He is doing a mighty work even if you never see the final result in this lifetime because the eternal result is praiseworthy!

The problems we face in this world are soon going to pass away and be forgotten. No matter now things look we are to fix our eyes on our Lord and on eternity. Even in the midst of affliction he is at work in the spiritual realm to bring completeness and perfection as the final result. Remember Romans 8:28 and keep your eyes on eternity!
