Peace, But Not As the World Gives

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” John 14:27

What ever would we do without God’s peace? When times are trying, stressful and even frightening His perfect peace truly transcends all understanding. We can lay ever one of our concerns and our burdens, our troubles and our fears at His feet. Don’t you know the world would so like to distract us and cause us to concentrate on things that are not of Him? As we lay every situation and circumstance before Him we can trust Him and as we trust our troubles will melt away replaced by love, joy and peace beyond measure. God is in control, dear ones so embrace the peace that He gives today! Send Your peace dear Lord, send Your peace.

This verse really speaks to my heart today because I know that this world is constantly trying to trouble me and cause me to fear. Then, it would gladly provide its own distorted brand of peace; but always remember that the world’s peace is temporary and usually just brings more trouble in the long run!
