“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
Do you believe that you have the strength and the ability to do whatever God has called you to do today? It is certainly acceptable to ask God to help you discern the important from the trivial so you won’t waste time or energy doing something that He hasn’t ordained, especially if you want your efforts to go into doing those things that bring honor and glory to Him. Our ladies are about halfway through the Beth Moore study “Believing God”. There is a pledge of faith that we have learned and part of that pledge is this: ‘I can do all things through Christ.’ If you have trouble believing this statement then I am going to ask you to set your heart on accomplishing only that which He has given you to do today. You may have to repeat this pledge over and over again throughout the day as a reminder but I truly believe that if you concentrate only on today you can believe and do all things through Christ, who strengthens you!
I believe with all my heart that this verse, just like every other verse, in God’s Holy Word is true. But when something appears difficult or costly I often give up too easily or I’ll try to accomplish God ordained tasks on my own steam which also often leads to failure. We can all do those things that He has given us to do but we must look to Him for the necessary strength to do them!
