He is Our Righteousness

“Offer the sacrifices of righteousness and trust in the Lord.” Psalm 4:5

None of us have it within ourselves to be righteous in our own right but if you know that God has called you and set you apart you have the ability to choose to live as holy a life as you know how today. This is possible because you don’t have to rely on your righteousness but His when you come before Him as a living sacrifice offering what you have, all that you are as you avail yourself of His righteousness. Sanctification and consecration are ongoing processes and even though our righteousness may be as filthy rags He won’t give up on those He loves but will continue His work of righteousness in you. Present yourself a living sacrifice today; ask God to be your righteousness as you place your trust in Him.

It is only through His righteousness that we can even think about being righteous. Remember He has never called His people to an impossible standard but He has called us to trust, to believe and to live a holy life.
