He Keeps His Promises

“Not one of the good promises which the LORD had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass.” Joshua 21:45

I hope that you truly know today that God is not slow about keeping His promises and that every promise He’s ever made has, or will, come to pass. I surely know this is true but sadly that knowledge doesn’t always prevent me from a little whining or complaining when things don’t seem to go my way. The Lord is our savior, healer, deliverer and provider. It is His Holy Spirit within that empowers us when we truly need it and it is His joy that strengthens us day by day. He hears every prayer, binds up the brokenhearted and makes a way where there doesn’t seem to be one; all according to His good promises. Oh Father, forgive me for complaining, even doubting at times because Your word says that not one of Your promises failed and I know none ever will!

We recently had a very important prayer answered and I knew when I prayed this particular prayer that I was praying according to God’s will yet for years we prayed this prayer seemingly to no avail but I had written this verse on an index card several years ago and I would read it from time to time as a reminder that none of His promises ever failed. It may take twenty years but He honors His word according to His plan for our lives, just like He did in Joshua’s day!
