Trial Has Purpose

“And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:3-5

How can we possibly exult in tribulation when that is so foreign to the way the flesh wants to react to it? I certainly cannot rejoice in my own strength so I ask God to give me the strength to rejoice in these things knowing that through perseverance character is built and through proven character I can have hope. When we pray for an outpouring of His love and His Holy Spirit within us we will have the strength and the desire to persevere and to hope in spite of what our situations and circumstances may look like. God will never disappoint or fail His children so you can confidently thank Him and praise Him today for the purposeful outcome of any trials you may be facing.

Oh how I hate trials and tribulations but how I desire the end result of proven character. I’m just so thankful that God intends our every trial to have purpose and that He never meant for us to face those trials alone.
