“In all labor there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools is foolishness.” Proverbs 14:23-24
I surely hope that I am not all talk, plans and imagination. Thinking and talking about what you’re going to do and how you’re going to do it certainly doesn’t accomplish God’s purpose. We must have passion and zeal to do the work He’s called us to if we are going to reap any profit, spiritual or otherwise, from that work. Ask Him to fill you with the desire today to labor in the field that is before you because in these last days we simply can’t waste the precious time we have. Just talking about even our best intentions will leave us with nothing but folly to show for it. Bless the work of my hands today, Lord; bless the work of my hands.
I want to do something really worthwhile for the kingdom of God someday but I realize more and more that time is short, and time is getting shorter, and that if I don’t actually do something besides talk, want and imagine that I won’t accomplish anything and I will end up with only heartache, poverty and dissatisfaction. Today is the day to act and to labor.
