“But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23
What motivates you today? What would your life be like if everything you did and said was motivated by love; love for God first and then love for others? When we love according to God’s Word and His will joy unspeakable and full of glory will abound, peace that surpasses all understanding will flourish and His perfect agape love will help us be patient and kind with everyone we encounter. When motivated by love we’re more apt to be good and faithful in all things. When we truly love we will be gentler (a gentle answer turns away wrath) and as we see His love working in and through us we will be strengthened to exercise self control. When God’s love flowing through us is our primary motivation the fruit of the Spirit will be produced in abundance; against such things there is no law!
Try, if you can, to think in terms of a segmented fruit like an orange or grapefruit, not a basket of various fruits from which one or two might be selected. Love today; Valentines Day is the perfect day to begin cultivating the fruit of the Spirit.
