Press On

“So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; and He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth.” Hosea 6:3

I love the picture that comes to my mind when I read this verse. There is nothing like a gentle spring rain to refresh the earth and basking in His presence has much the same effect on us. Pressing on to know the Lord and His ways is especially important during those occasional dry spells that we all experience. Nothing this world has to offer refreshes like His presence. I want to press on so that I might know Him more and so that I might experience His sweet presence more fully with every encounter. I want to press on so that I can know His plan for my life and His anointing that is like fresh rain from heaven. Are you pressing on to know Him today?

His going forth is as certain as the dawn; it comes at the appointed time every single morning whether we’re awake to see or whether or not the sky is cloudy and overcast. Press in and press on; the sweet rain from heaven will surely come!
