“Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.” Psalm 126:5-6
There is never a harvest without first planting seed and planting is hard work. If you’ve sown in tears over the lives of unsaved loved ones or urgent needs to be met give thanks for there is a harvest of joy to come. As a mother and now a grandmother, I have certainly sown many a tear and I cling to this precious promise from God’s Word and I look forward with great expectation to a bountiful harvest of joyful shouting one day. Until the day of harvest comes I pray that I will continue to sow seed into the lives of others and that I will never grow weary of carrying my bag of seed.
We sow more seed than we realize and as we sow into the lives of others other Christians are sowing into our lives and the lives of our loved ones as well. We can be assured, because God says so in His word, that those seeds, even though the sowing may be painful, will sprout and produce a bountiful harvest in due season. Praise God!
