We’re all About Him

“…for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13

What, or should I say who, is your life about? Sometimes the Lord has to remind me that my life is about Him and not me. I know I was fearfully and wonderfully created for His good pleasure yet my flesh continually gets in the way pf that knowledge. I pray that I will know how to please Him today and then that I will strive to do that very thing. I pray that my every thought, word and deed not only brings honor and glory to Him today but that those thoughts, words and deeds will truly be a reflection of Him to all I come in contact with. That is my heart’s desire, even though I often perform as though my own pleasure is the only thing that matters. Work in me today, Lord, work in me.

If you’re anything like me you probably wish sometimes that God would just take complete control so pleasing the flesh would no longer be an issue. But then I realize that if He did take complete control of me He wouldn’t find pleasure in that at all. It is when I give Him first place and allow Him to work that He is pleased. Sometimes easier said than done, and it is a daily process, but oh so worth it!
