It’s What’s Inside That Matters

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” Psalm 139:23-24

Did you know that the Lord knows our heart and its deepest desires even far better than we do? He knows what causes us to have anxious thoughts, He knows what motivates us, grieves us and causes us to doubt and He knows how every situation and circumstance we encounter will affect us. He knows the end from the beginning in all these things. That is why it is so important to cultivate the mind of Christ as we prepare to face the world each and every day. The Lord is able to help us respond to victories as well as disappointments in a Christ-like way so that we won’t cause hurt or be a stumbling block to others. Let the Lord lead you in His everlasting way today, pray for passion and zeal for what He has called you to and lay all your cares and anxieties at His feet.

We can come before our Lord without any pretense because He knows us better than we know ourselves (that’s all part of our fearful and wonderful making) and if the situations and circumstances we face can’t be changed our attitudes surely can be with His help. It all begins by asking him to search our hearts.
