God So Loved

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. That whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

This is probably the first Bible verse that many of us ever learned and for years it was the only Bible verse I knew. Even when I couldn’t quite comprehend the depth of His amazing love and His ultimate sacrifice this verse ministered to me and I know that it is ministering truth to those I love and pray for daily even if they are not quite yet able to comprehend it. This is the gospel in two amazing sentences and I believe that through these powerful words seeds have been planted in the lives of countless loved ones, both yours and mine, and that one day those loved ones will come to realize just how personal this truth from God’s word is

I am so thankful for this truth and for His sacrifice on Calvary. Father, You so loved me that You gave Your son. You so loved all humanity and it is not Your desire that any should perish. How I take comfort in these powerful words today.
