“In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:6-7
I have something to rejoice about today and it’s not that life is free of all trials. I do, however, know that God knows best how to build my faith and it is God Who is able to help me be strong and joyful in the face of trouble. Only He can do that work in us and I believe that is the very reason He allows us to go through various (and necessary) trials; so that He can prove Himself mighty in the midst of them. When you allow him to work in you during times of distress, rejoicing in Him all the while, you’ll have something to truly rejoice in when the trial is over and you find you’ve passed the test. I pray that your faith (and mine) will be a testimony and that the result of whatever trials you’re experiencing bring praise, honor and glory to God. Won’t you rejoice with me today?
As long as we live in this world we will be occasionally distressed by various trials. If you have children, a job or any kind of life at all you probably know what I’m talking about. Your life may even be fraught with trials this very day. Refining is not a comfortable process and rejoicing in a trial takes a great deal of strength but the proof of our faith is more precious than gold and look at the result; praise, glory and honor at the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ!
