Seasoned Just Right

“Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned, as it were, with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person.” Colossians 4:6

This is one of the best reasons given in scripture to carefully monitor our feelings and the abundance of our hearts. According to Matthew 12:34 whatever fills our hearts will eventually become spoken words. When we guard our hearts we also guard our mouths so that our speech will be seasoned with grace, love and mercy. When our hearts are filled with grace, love and God’s word our conversations with others will reflect God and who we are in Him. When we are truly centered on Him we won’t respond in pride or anger nor will we react defensively. Instead we will season our speech with grace, love and mercy. Fill your heart with the abundance of His word and ask Him to help you know how He would have you respond to each person you come in contact with today so that your speech will always be seasoned just right and pleasing to Him.

As Christians we have opportunities every day to live our lives before others. It is so important that when we speak our words are glorifying to God, otherwise they might leave a very bad taste in our mouths and a very bad impression on others.
