All Diligence

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

Are you always as attentive to tasks God has ordained for you and to the people He has called you to attend to? Sometimes I come closer to achieving that goal than at other times when I’m not even sure I have it in me to try. I confess that I’ve not always applied all diligence as God’s workman and this failure has been a source of shame on occasion. But today is a new day and I pray today that God will help me pursue diligence in every task I undertake and that I would do all that I’ve been given to do according to His will and His plan for my life. Most of all I want to handle accurately the word of truth, not just in ministering to others but as I apply that word to my own life.

Of course we’re not saved by works but we weren’t saved just to sit back and wait for heaven either. Faith without works is dead and work that is only done halfway is not anything to be proud of. When He gives you a task do it with all diligence and according to the word of truth.
