“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Are you ever challenged to really trust God because what is revealed to you by your own limited understanding is often bleak and disappointing? (Wasn’t it just yesterday that we vowed to believe, hope and trust?) Today we can all begin afresh by reading this truth from His Word and we can thank him for the reminder that we can trust Him with our whole heart. I know I’m reminded to acknowledge Him, my loving Heavenly Father, in all my ways as I ask Him to show me which of my ways I need to change in order to make that possible. I know I must ask Him to help me behave as one who truly trusts Him with my whole heart so that I can be an example of trust to others as I strive to walk the path He’s set before me. Whose understanding will you lean on today? Will you acknowledge Him today in all your ways?
Sometimes we say one thing, like ‘I trust You, Lord’ but act, or should I say, think, another way. I’m the first to admit that even my best understanding of most things is limited to only how I’m directly affected. Remember, the situations we face may have eternal consequences impacting us, and others in ways we are not even aware of; there’s always a bigger picture. It’s crucial to trust in the Lord wholeheartedly, no matter what the ‘facts’ say.
