“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
How I wish I could truly say I am anxious for nothing but it seems that worry and anxiety are constantly trying to creep into my thoughts. If anxiety can’t find a foothold in one area of my life it will try another until, before I know it, it’s made itself right at home all over the place. God’s Word says in these verses that everything that might cause anxiety in our lives can be affected by prayer. I’m so thankful that God has the ability to change those situations and circumstances and/or give me His perfect peace that surpasses all comprehension so that I can face those things without being anxious. Won’t you ask the Father to guard your heart and mind today in Christ Jesus so that instead of focusing on the problems you can focus on His love, His joy and His perfect peace?
Anxiety is in direct opposition to God’s Word and His will for believers. Anxiety accomplishes absolutely nothing except to wear us out and make us sick. You might not be able to change the problems but you can give them over to God and He will give you peace which truly surpasses all comprehension in exchange.
