“I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14
How do you see yourself? As Christians I believe we have little problem accepting the fact the we are fearfully and wonderfully made, made in secret and known to Him before our mothers ever knew of our existence. Why then, do so many Christians suffer from poor self esteem and feelings of inadequacy and why do so many of us fear failure, even in view of the fact that we know that He will never fail us? At the beginning of this new year I asked the Lord to help me to see myself the way He sees me and He directed me to this verse; a verse that is very, very familiar to me but He wanted to show me something I had overlooked and that is the second half of the verse. Read it for yourself and let it sink in. You, dear reader are fearfully and wonderfully made and you are one of those wonderful works that the Psalmist speaks of! Grasp hold of who you are today and let your soul know it very well.
See yourself the way He sees you, a fearfully and wonderfully made individual and a truly wonderful work on your Father’s eyes!
