“Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, and the righteous will walk in them, but transgressors will stumble in them.” Hosea 14:9
It is my heart’s desire to know God’s ways and I want to walk in them yet I sometimes feel that I walk a very fine line between complete self-righteousness and walking in the kind of love He would have me to walk in. I’ve also had to ask forgiveness a time or two when I’ve been a bit judgmental or have otherwise reacted to another’s lack of knowledge as though I have all the answers. In talking with others about this problem I’ve found I’m not the only one who struggles in this area and I also know that God alone should be my source of wisdom and discernment. Do you need to ask His help today in remembering to apply what you know of Him to your heart so that you might gain understanding? I know I do because I lack any real discernment without Him. Won’t you join me in setting your heart on knowing His ways more fully today and to walk more diligently in those ways?
There are plenty of good moral and seemingly wise teachings in our world today but the ways of the Lord are the only ways that are right and righteous 100% of the time. Discern them and walk in them to avoid stumbling (and to avoid becoming a stumbling block for others.)
