The Source of True Gain

“But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.” 1 Timothy 6:6-8

The Lord has blessed His children with so much and material blessings are just a fraction of what He has bestowed upon those He loves. We’re truly blessed beyond measure because not only do we have food and covering in abundance, we have His Holy Spirit within to provide guidance and comfort, we’re seated in heavenly places with Christ and we have every precious promise in the Word available to us because of His great love. I pray that the gains I would prize would be spiritual as I strive to please Him and do those things He has ordained for me during my time on this earth as I strive for godliness in all I do. Give Him praise and thanks today for all His provision and He will help you to be content in Him as you strive for godliness in all things.

How well I know that nothing compares to contentment found in Christ; so why is it that we are so easily distracted by the things of this world when He has already blessed us so abundantly? I truly desire for my gains to come from spiritual blessing and from pleasing the Lord and I pray that you, dear Christian, find contentment in Him as well.
