“‘Woe to the rebellious children,’ declares the LORD, ‘Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin; Who proceed down to Egypt Without consulting Me, To take refuge in the safety of Pharaoh And to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt! Therefore the safety of Pharaoh will be your shame and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt, your humiliation.’” Isaiah 30:1-3
I once devised a really stupid plan to get myself out of what I considered to be an undesirable situation and when that plan was executed a great deal of shame and sorrow was brought upon the lives of many people and I also entered into a much worse situation than I had ever dreamed possible. I made alliances that were displeasing to the Holy Spirit and added sin to sin and then sinned some more. I took refuge where there was no refuge to be found and suffered shame and humiliation because of that devious plan yet God never gave up on me. When I finally decided to follow His plan He forgave my rebellion and restored my soul. How I praise Him and thank Him that there is ultimate refuge and safety in Him and a plan that never fails.
How about you, are you following His plan for your life or one you have devised for yourself? Trust me on this; rebellion brings sure shame and humiliation. Thank God that it can all be wiped away when we cry out to Him. Thank God that He is able to deliver His children and for a plan that never fails.
