Our Heritage

“The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.” Psalm 16:5-6

Can you trace your family history back several generations? Knowing who we are and where our family came from is an important part of our identity. I am very proud of my Irish heritage and I have a lot of fun with it. I also have a heritage that goes much deeper and that is the heritage I have in Christ as one of His. What a wonderful heritage we have as Christians and how I thank God today for what is ours in Him through Christ Jesus. I pray that God will keep me mindful of who I am in Christ; His child and His heir. How I love my Heavenly Father and how I pray that my unsaved loved ones will one day share in that inheritance that is so precious and so beautiful to me.

Irish yes, but I also have a Christian heritage in a godly grandmother who set an incredible example of faithfulness while she was alive. But I am absolutely awed over my inheritance as one of His children and that is the heritage I am most proud of. What a privilege it is to be called His!
