“Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4
My daily prayer has been and will continue to be that I would always walk in the newness of life that was made possible through Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. The best way I have found to do that is to dedicate every day to the Lord and to the pursuit of His plan for my life. When I begin my days focusing on Him in prayer I am more likely to recognize any steps I might take that are contrary to that newness of life He has called me to walk in. When I begin my day by in prayer and in the study of His word I am more willing to die to self, buried with Him, so to speak, and I am much more apt to recognize opportunities and doors He has opened for me to walk through as well. Today presents a brand new opportunity to walk in newness of life. Won’t you walk with Him today?
I’ve occasionally had to ask my Father if I’m truly walking in newness of life; that question usually leads to repentance and a different way of walking. Do you need help with your walk? If you belong to Him just ask and He’ll show you how to walk in the newness of life He has called you to as well.
