Predestined to be Conformed

“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son that He might be the first born among many brethren; and whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called; these Ho also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.” Romans 8:29-30

How can you know that you are one of these? Isn’t it often easier to recognize that others are called, justified and mightily used by God? I know I find it so much easier to see His hand at work in others but when it comes to my own calling I admit that my vision is sometimes blurred. I suspect this is one area in my personal life where Mark 9:24 applies so I will declare today that “I believe – help my unbelief.” It’s very much OK to pray that prayer and ask God to strengthen you to apply that word to your life and then determine to behave like one who is called. If you are having difficulty recognizing God’s plan at work in your life today ask Him to help you conform to the image of Christ today and every day for what has been predestined for you so that He might be glorified in everything you say, do and think.

If we are going to believe what God’s Word says about who He is we must also believe what the Word says about who we are in Him. It just gives me goose bumps to think that the Creator of the universe actually has had such plans for me! And for you, as well – do you have goose bumps too?
