“There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain.” Isaiah 4:6
Rather than ask you if you are going through a storm today I’ll ask if your current storm consists of a little rain and a bit of wind or if it’s a vicious and unrelenting category five? Storms are a part of life and on Sunday Reverend Randy Wisdom preached a sermon at New Life Center entitled “The Storm” which he began with a similar question. As he preached I began to ponder our current storm; it’s just started to produce some good size hail stones. I appreciated the reminder that there is never a circumstance or situation nor is there ever a trial or a storm that God’s people cannot find a place of safety and that is in His presence where there is strength, joy unspeakable and full of glory and peace beyond human understanding. In that holy presence there is help according to His Word whether the storm that comes is financial, physical, emotional or spiritual. There are instructions in God’s Word that apply to any and everything we will ever face as we abide in that peaceful presence and as we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth. The world offers nothing like it.
On Sunday Reverend Wisdom said that no matter the outcome of the storm God always works it out for our good. We can surely trust in that and take refuge in the knowledge that God is always looking out for His children’s best and His shelter is always ready and welcoming. Find your shade, your refuge and your protection in Him today.
